  1. I had to do that last week, bloody bolt gets stuck against the chassis and won't go any further definate pain, lucky they go back in easier !
  2. I can't say for sure but usually the remote comes from your headunit and you wire a seperate fused 12v straight from the battery to your amp, also the red and white would be L+R channel audio, yellow is usually video and the black im not sure. Hope this has been at least a little help.
  3. You can get away with just taking the tie rod off if you dont mind twatting your hub alot with a lump hammer.. Probably easier to take the arm off from where it connects to the chassis then the hub should come off easy. (maybe one side of the anti roll bar aswell) Go and get a haynes manual they make things easier, although not everything they tell you to do is the easiest/best way.
  4. Hi, im hoping someone can help and magic up a wiring diagram for the clifford IG 950, I had it installed on my old cabby(very very badly I noticed when I took it out, wires wound together no solder dodgy connections etc)by a supposed professional got my certificate and everything. Then my window got smashed head unit nicked and alarm didn't make a peep. Anyway now the old girl will be getting scrapped I took it off, I was very careful to take every single part and parcel of the alarm system and TBH it really won't be that hard to wire up bonnet switch, door switches, boot switch, indicators, drivers door locking solonoid put the sensors somewhere and few other bits. Now if I was clever i'd of labelled the wires as I took them off, but at the time I was planning on getting an installer to fit it again, but after see'ing the hash someone who was supposed to know what they were doing made of it thought I may aswell save some money and just not get a certificate. So yea if anyone can get a diagram be much appreciated.
  5. If I remember correctly, which might not be the case as it was about 6 years ago when I wired one into a cab, but I think you just need to de-solder the wire from the power hood loom which is attached on the black box opposite to the ignition keyhole(you know the round one that turns with the key). Yea like I said take off the wire which power's the hood and put it on the constant 12v. Now I can't guaruntee that will work it's just a barely educated guess from what I remember 6 years ago but hope it helps.
  6. If you have ABS it'd be nice to know how you get on because I saw somewhere that the ford power steering rack fouled on the modulator, then again his might not of been genuine ford.
  7. It is the standard xr3i efi loom, don't think this cab has been messed with.
  8. Yea it's belt driven abs, so im just being stupid and it's supposed to light up with the handbrake yea ?
  9. Does anyone know what the colours of the wires going into the 2 plugs actually do ? The diagram in the back of the haynes manual tells me how it works, but not what the different coloured wires do. It would be a massive help if anyone has a clue..want to get my astra gte digi dash in!
  10. not really a mod but no other brakes section.. Just a small Q, the abs light comes on but only when the handbrake is on, need a new cable or something else ? cheers. 1990 EFi
  11. I have been looking into this, and funnily enough my wife rang a breakers in the afternoon and that very morning they scrapped an orion with power steering, how gutting. Also spoke to a specialist, who said he thought the renault espace rack might fit also, it depends on the length(I think) because you can always make brackets to make it fit.. You will also need a pump, now you can mess around with a pully driven pump and res, or use an electricly driven one, get some high bar pipes made up and bob's your uncle, mk4 with power steering. I will be doing this at some point...unless I find another onion first(yes I meant onion lol).
