  1. Ok, quick update,

Failed on headlamp aim to low, rear brake binding on one side, front wheel bearing and rear pipes corroded.

Not too bad considering she has been laid up for 4 years.

Goit it booked in for a wheel bearing change and the other three I am sorting myself.

Hopefully she'll be legal come next week!

  2. Neath hill autos.

MK MOT in Kiln Farm is good. I used them to MOT my Orange cab eariler this year. Only reason why I am not sending the blue one there is because I don't want to drive her too far, as she has been dormant for 4 years.

  3. No probs  , let us know how you get on.

Just remember to take a photo of the fusebox so you know where the fuses and links need to go when refitting the box.

Also check each and every solder joint on the board. Look for any faint black cracks and apply new solder to these joints.

There is also a post in the tutorials section on soldering tips which may come in handy.

  4. Good stuff,

These guys always go out of their way to locate those tricky parts. I've been ordering parts from these guys since 1998.

Was in there last weekend, those Focus RS's have taken over the showroom.

  5. Guys

These roof repair kits are available from vw/audi dealers for only £17.

I brought one from my local.

Vw cabs used the same roof pump as Escort Cabrio.

The broken cogs syndrome is more prevailant in the roof pump with the black cylinder body, which was fitted to Escort cabs >Oct 96 onwards. This was due to to manufacturing fault in these later pumps. The repair kit is made by PowerPacker Inc (who manufactured these pumps and literally all roof pumps for all cars).

Its a shame Ford never sold these kits.

Also a problem with these later pumps was the plastic end-caps splitting. Vw dealers sell these replacement caps too.

  6. Hi and welcome to MK6 cabriolet ownership. :banana_dance:

You car looks good, is it Imperial Blue? And those wheels are pretty tasty.

I was going to say why do you want to remove the 'wood effect' trim? But I think that's me getting old
