Only way is to have a look underneath and tug at the cables.
I don't think mk3 and mk4 are the same because i brought a new one from ford and the mk3 version had a different part number

Hope you didn't scratch the paint on your bumper by having it on the grass like that!
Looking good by the way. Did you get the boot sorted?
-
Very nice. Judging by the quality of your car in those pics, you'd think those were taken in 1989.
I also like your horses.

Yep, had a great time.
Hats off to Ollie for being a great host.
Oh, by the way Ollie, did you have enough petrol for the journey home!
-
Bargin , and the interior is nice and original too.
Any plans for it?

Tis was great
It was nice to meet face to face with fellow cab club members. Roll on the 2011 show season

Hi,
Does the passenger side windows and roof all align correctly?
-
Ain't you finished it yet! LOL
But some nice early progress there, keep it up

Check the socket in the dash where you press the immobilisier key into. In particular the wiring. I had a Meta immobiliser on mine similar to yours
Eventaully over time, the continual pushing in and out had caused the socket to twist, in turn causing one of the small wires at the back to become detached.
If in your case, it is not this, try asking a immobiliser/alarm fitter. Not sure you will be able to get those type of key anymore?

Looks like a nice tidy cabriolet. I do like the colour.

Nice little project, nothing too difficult, bodyparts are still available from Ford, but at a cost!
Keep the pics coming.

Beige, no only joking

I look forward to seeing the finished article at Ford Fair
Getting very hard these days to source good quality interior trim for cabs.

Hey, someones been busy.
Looking great those, especially the speaker pods. Are you going to fit them for Ford Fair?

good man! not long now till sunday.
Battery is easy, Euro car parts, Bosch battery 40 quid, inc the round terminal adaptors too.
Brought one couple of weeks ago for my mk4.

Hi all,
Just my two pence worth, not too keen with old to new. I think it will make the stand look to formal and boring.
Also given MK6's are not exactly the desirable cars people go and see, people will be drawn towards the MK4 end at the expense of the MK6 side.
I think a mix of all MK's and colours is best to uniformly draw showgoers attention to all parts of the club stand.
BTW I am bringing my all-blue to the show. No need for pic, just imagine a usual standard all-blue

just give it a polish up, yoiu wouldn't know the difference! LOL

Before you write off the sensors, try cleaning the Idle valve with carb cleaner.
Over time excess carbon builds up inside these, affecting piston movement.
Simply open up the idle valve and spray carb cleaner to remove carbon deposits. Leave to dry. Ensure the piston moves freely.
Refit after all carb cleaner has evaporated.

Oh dear
On the bright side, at least none of those failures are anything major or terminal.
Hope you get everything done in time becasue I'd like to see the car at Ford Fair.
-
Wow, those parts are looking good. Keep up the good work

Hi Stu,
How did the MOT go today?

Haved not fitted one before, but easy enough.
Just need to jack up the rear of car and remove both outer drums.
