Stephen Bearded Minky Hill
Hi all. I have just fitted a brand new turbo (chra). I primed the turbo with new oil and also changed the oil and filter. I'm positive all the bolts were tightened evenly. It spins freely on tick over and speeds up when I give it a rev and can't hear anything out of the ordinary. Until I'm in the car that is. Just driving it out of the workshop I can hear a metallic rattling sound. Wondered if anything may have had the same sort of issues? And I have checked thoroughly for any mislaid spanners etc lol. Thanks guys!!
Ian71
Are you sure its coming from the turbo stephen ? if so i would ring up who ever did the work and have a word, i recently had my T2 upgraded and sent it back as it was leaking oil ,they re-tested it and said it was fine and told me to sort out the oil retun pipe as they dont let a good flow of oil back to the engine. Stephen Bearded Minky Hill
All sorted. It was definitely the turbo mate. Had no boost at all. I took it back off checked for any rubbing but couldn't see anything so reassembled it making sure I tightened the bolts evenly and now no more noise and boosting like a treat.
