hello..ive a bit of a problem of sorts..my zinc yellow mk 6 R386 YKM has finally been written off by lv last fri while on holiday in the lovely isle of wight..its a basic 1.6 calypso spec..nothing fancy but it has a newish power hood..with no rips/tears & is in great nick..however ive just replaced it with a black mk 6 1.8 ghia also a r reg...R273 YDX..but alough the exterior paint is better ie not faded the roof is in need of some tlc..theres no tears/rips& is working & quiet but after cleaning with turtlewax hood kit 4 times.!!!!.its still faded in places & still has a slight green tint where the car was parked under trees etc in the middle section..ive ordered some renovo black hood dye..& im hoping this brings it back to life..as its a little tatty..if this dosnt work..how hard is it to remove both the hoods & swap them over before the salvage co take it away..ive already bought a newer set of 15" gti alloys for it & time allowing il get them on ..but could anyone in essex kent pop over to harlow essex & do it for me..il gladly pay for time & fuel etc..is there any step by step guides within the club?? if so how long for both hoods..any problems i may face..or is there any companys in essex kent who could quote to do the work..??cheers jim..
