Guest Aaron James Sadler
I gave up on the blue escort i was going to restore and i have brought another one.... which needs a lot less work This is what the last owner done to the car: Low mileage since engine rebuild Lifters replaced, new pistons fitted, cylinders bored, engine interior polished, new cam shaft, piston rings – no expense spared. Full service history, since I have owned it, including receipts for all work carried out, engine totalling over £2000.00! Fully operational powerhood with glass rear heated window RS Alloys ( slight kerbing ) and TOYO XS low profile performance tyres all round. White interior dials Full audio system, JVC 12” sub, Amplifier, kenwood 6-disc CD changer and Kenwood front facia stereo, with Infinity front tweeters. Full RS Bodykit ( damage listed below ) Brand New Car Battery 085. Standard alarm fitted ( though not Category 1) and Spare alarm fob. Now i do need to replace the front bumper as it is a lot worse than it looks in the pictures, i have also brought new headlights, front and side indicators, new stereo as the face plate didnt work on the one that came with the car, a few small rust patches need doing, and one seal needs a tiny bit of welding, one thing i cant understand is that the steering is unbelievably heavy even when moving... any ideas on this one? I have replaced the interior with a half black leather one... pic: i also want to replace the alloys with the RS Turbo ones, however they are rare as hens teeth now :/ pics as below: But as you can see this car is a lot better than the last one (for the people that saw the pics)

Guest Champy13
I have a set of RS alloys that are diamond cut. Can post a picture of them? I will say they are ok but not 100% perfect, id say 90%, think from memory one might need a little tlc but certainly not scabby... lol I am looking to sell them at the right price BTW its just wheels no tyres as they are fecked Edited November 20, 2012 by Champy13

Guest El87cabi
Nice looking cabi, would keep hold of the mondeo alloy's just in case u want to fit bigger brakes, plus they are getting more difficult to get hold of.
Guest Aaron James Sadler
i got offered a straight swap those alloys for a set of refurbed rs ones... tough decision lol
gingergman
rs ones will suit it better. just noticed it doesnt have an rs bonnet, not many havent now days!
Guest mk3stevo
love the interior mate. plus i would leave the mondeo wheels on her, they suit the mk4 better.
Guest Aaron James Sadler
i was looking for the RS bonnet, but sooo expensive lol, also i want the RS Turbo alloys i prefer them... especially in powdered black below are some picture of what i found on removing the front bumper: just a little bit of rust on the left part of the slam panel, and bottom is the bumper which i need, after taking it off i have found that it is the 90spec bumper with an addition part fitted at the bottom? Guest El87cabi
yes, it's a two part bumper, by the look of things you should be able to repair it
Guest Aaron James Sadler
ooo i see, yeah it's repairable BUT it's going to take time, and i want to take the car to cornwall on holiday in May lol... and with one day a week off between now and January that is going to be tough (I work for Virgin Media Installs so it's a busy time of year lol)... anywhere i can but the bottom part or whole bumper, i cant seem to find one anywhere
Guest El87cabi
you'll be very lucky to get another as a separate valance, i'd say try speedshack or an rs breakers but it's only a slim possiblity they'd have 1 or a complete bumper with valance, not too sure where else to check to be honest, your best course of action may be to get a cheap 89' or 90' spec frt bumper without the valance so the car is drivable then you can do the bumper when u can
Guest Aaron James Sadler
This is what i have done, i have borught a 90spec rs turbo front bumper to replace it, it just needs painting black as it is white at the moment
Guest El87cabi
best way to go, are you going to repair the other when you have time?
Guest Aaron James Sadler
maybeee it needs a lot of work on the extra part at the bottom, the top part is in fairly good nick though
Guest El87cabi
is that a hole on the left hand side? if not it seems to have just a crack near the centre and some damage on the corners
Guest Aaron James Sadler
the right hand bottom corner needs rebuilding, the wheel arch top corners need rebuilding on both sides, the bottom left corner is cracked and seperated, there are cracks along the bottom in several places, the old owner lived in a very pot holed road so it must have smashed into the ground a few times, the picture makes it look better than it actually is lol
Guest El87cabi
lol, well, best thing to do is store it just incase and hope you come across another, they do come up for sale occasionally
Guest El87cabi
i've looked on the speedshack website and they don't have any in atm
