Guest Matthew Davenport Posted June 28, 2012 Share Posted June 28, 2012 I bought a replacement rear bumper for my mk4. The inside is different though. It has a sort of dense foam on the inside. The original one didn't. The original bumper just had a plastic (reinforcing) panel on the inside. The foam is quite thick so the bumper doesn't quite fit flush with the rear of the body. Is this an aftermarket/non ford bumper, or is it from an earlier year? Mine is a 1990 spec. I'll stick with it then. just wanted to make sure it was the right one. as gingergman says you can a still see the foam when the bumper is fitted. just looks a bit odd as i'm used to the old one.
