mickyfin32
bought a new roof weeks ago(mk4) installed it so far so good then snap tension cable, so after a few days of waiting for fords i threaded through new tension cable tightened it up both side pretty much all the way and looked around the back and i can still see the cable i know this isn't right. also noticed the lower bar of the rear window has rusted so bad its lost its strength and bowed leaving a gap between rubber n window so got it leaking. and its leaking from the corner of the doors did fix this problem on old roof so not too happy need advice on what do i do next?? Guest bobbybear1972
That bars gotta come out fella, and you either need to replace it or cut out the rotten part and sleeve with a new piece of tube,( and weld both ends) I cant see another way round it. perhaps some one may have a frame on here. Guest Lee81
I have a spare frame with nackered cover on it. The frame aint rusted at all. Also have a roof with a very good vinyl cover on it. £150 for the one with decent cover. £35 for the frame. I can post but its likly to be expensive or collect for free from nn11

Guest shaun
The back window rubber is stapled in from new to stop the window getting blown out when travelling with window down on car...
Guest Lee81
None of the ones i have ever taken apart had the window rubber stapled to the frame. The hood cover was stapled. The rear window takes some getting out. I usually have to use my feet to push it out and its still difficult
