Hi wonder if any1 can help me, I've put a 1.8 zetec into my 1990 cabby, I brought a 95 escort (internal pats) donor car with key's. Done all the mechanics. Then went on too do the wiring and that's where the problems started lol. Done all the relays and everything works except there's no spark too plugs, pump kicks in and all the sensors are live including live too the ignition coil. I have a funny feeling that the pats has kicked in (everything was working when I brought the doNor car). The thing I need to know is there any way of been able too check if the pats has kicked in or if any1 can throw any ideas as too why there's no spark, I've taped the key too the transponder. If any1 could help it would be much appreciated has I am now banging my head against a brick wall " so too speak "

umm not sure about zetec but have you hook up the crank sensor? everything could be working fine but if crank sensor isnt attached you wont get any spark(crank sensor is where the gear box meets engine at the front usual above starter motor ).... hope it helps

hi mate

i have a feeling (not totally sure) that when pats cuts in the fuel pump etc won't work either have you checked the coil pack there are 3 connecters on there the middle one should be 12volts all the time with ign on, it then sends a signal to either side and fires 2 plugs at once.

i did have it once where the plug connectors had spayed out so i lost one side of the signal and wouldn't fire...

The fuel pump does kick in when you first turn the key, I can hear it, all the sensors are live even too the coil pack, I've tried looking at the connection on the coil pack and it all looks fine. I tried moving the key away from the transponder and the fuel pump still kicks in when you turn the key. It's really starting too do me head in now  , I've tried everything that I know of too no avail. Does any1 now of where I can get a none pats loom and ecu from, I've tried around leeds and no luck, also tried ebay. Thanx for your help
