JMc Posted June 2, 2011 Share Posted June 2, 2011 Hi all, On the basis (I assume and will probably be told that I am wrong) a lot of the components from a cabby fit on an Orion i.e. the engine, gearbox, dash etc, does it work the other way around? i.e. would the rear seat with the headrests from an Orion fit in a cabby? The next question has probably been asked on numerous occasions so apologies, but how easy and cheap is it, to obtain a replacement dash for a Mk III, and can a split dash be repaired effectively? gingergman Posted June 2, 2011 Share Posted June 2, 2011 i doubt the rear seat would fit as i would have thought it was the same as the tin top escort, where the top part is diffrent to the cabs. mk3 dashes go for silly money, you can get a poverty spec dash from a base model mk3 that i believe are solid plastic and they dont split. most people wouldnt notice the diffrence. you can get them repaired, dont know how much it costs tho, i think a few people use filler etc on them then get them flocked as its much much cheaper and covers the repair. but if you wanted it to look original then expect to fair a fair amount of doller to get it prof repaired!
