Hello Folks,

Haven't really been on here much for ages so my old cab is probably pretty much forgotten.

It was originaly a 1985 Mk3 1.6i Cabrio in Rosso Red. I aquired it as a basket case. The shell was actualy very sound with the only rust issues being due to not quite so perfectly repaired accident damage in the past.

The shell was completely restored (sadly not by me, it was beyond my capabilities)back in 2000 or there abouts and resprayed to original colour in two-pack. It also gained a reproduction RS 1600i chin spoiler and stripe set, though with the RS 1600i legend replaced with SG 2000i to reflect it's builder (I put it together, not RS) and its new engine size (2.0ltr Zetec).

It has been sat dormant in the parents garage for the last 6 years due to other comitments but I am hoping to restart work on it soon.

Anyway, some pics:

Interior: (Yes, I know, wrong dashboard. But mine was totaly fudged!)

Loads more details on my website (see sig).

Cheers,

Smiler.

Oh nuts, Moderators, could you please kindly correct the title of this thread to read 'SG2000i' as oposed to 'Sg2000I' ? It would kind of make more sense as to where its new moniker came from then.

Cheers, though that is one of it's better shots.

I think that once done, the only bit that'll really let it down is the tatty seats. The fronts are recarros but they need recovering and one has a slightly collapsed frame. Rears also need recovering. Too much money though.

Ta very much, though as you say, photos tend to be rather flattering. It is about 99% rust free with just one or two very minor cosmetic blemishes to attend to. The paintwork however is very flat and needs a blymin good polish. The stripe kit however tends to get in the way of polishing to a ceratin degree as I obviously don't want to damage it.

However, before I worry about polishing it I've got to get it finished!

I've even restarted work on the EscortUpgrades section of the website! I've started to complete the gearbox rebuild section.
