Try pulling directly on the linkages that operate it. Lifting or pressing on the door as you try to open it.

Aint ever come across this problem before.

tried that, to no joy

only thing i can think of is to remove the seat (more space) the door card comes half off, then try to take the window out and the runner out as its in the way, then drill millions of holes in it and try to smash it apart, altho its tight, not much room for trying to smash and mangle it up,

thats my last resort, if that will even work?? i dont know. what do you think? dont want to nacker anything else up.

just hope there is a better way??

god its pissing me off :punish:

Your probably not going to be able to break it. Its hardened steel so drilling it is going to be difficult without a proper machine shop grade bit.

It may be possible to remove the rear doorcard and drill the two / three screws that hold the stricker plate in place on the piller. Once drilled the plate should come away with catch holding it.

Not sure how accessable the are for a drill but a dremil or similar should fit.

if you have the door card off then inside find the bar that links the handle to the catch/latch then grab it and put a little bend in it. it's just got a little baggy with old age,, a bit like myself. this will make it more responsive

did think of this but dont think its accesable enough by a long way, also risk damaging the door shut paint, but saying that whatever i do think its gunna be risking it.

think i may take the rear card off and have a ganders.

Worth a look. It was just an idea to a problem I hope i never get.

Another thing that might help is to open the hood and jack up the front sill. The cabs bend quite a bit stretching the opening for the door. This may help to free the catch
