Hi, Sounds like you have a few problems here.

Lets start at the main one of battery running flat. If the red light does not go out when the engine is running then it is not charging. Is the little blue wire conected to the alternator? this should come from the negative side of the warning lamp bulb and is required to make the alternator work.

The rev counter could be a voltage problem that is fixed when you get the carging sorted, however it is probably a fauly rev counter...the cheapest and easiest fix for this it to source another instument cluster from a breakers yard.

An finaly the rear wiring. The wire that you put to the frame to switch the light on should split in to two and each one should then go to the pin switched at the A post. The rear window is just one blue/black wire from the relay to one side of the window and the other contact should have a wire going to thr frame. Make sure these wires can cary over 35 amps.

All you problems are now gone!

Good luck

Battery problem first

check blue wire great condition connect fine, change red relay in main fuse box which outed the battery light on dash when the car is running but battery still died, recharged battery ran the car took off black wire from battery car cut out suggesting alternator at fault took back to the shop awaiting new one....

i have mfi clocks in my car but have tried with efi clocks both times only half reading of revs i did find site rsbible which says something about running a wire from the E dis unit pin 11 to the back of the clocks but didnt say which wire/port at the back of the clocks would like to shed some light on this please

and rear window well i will be looking many thanks

Ok, with the charging... switch the ignition on and the battery light should not be on if the alternator is disconnected. If you then connect the little blue wire to earth (the frame) then the light should come on. If not then there is a wiring fault.

If the wiring checks out ok then it could still be the main feed cable. Make sure the connection from the alternator big red wire is in good condition where it connects to the starter motor main terminal (about 100mm from the connection it turns into two small wires that are fuse links, these can be black or red). This is also a common problem so strip back the insulation to find the connection.

Good luck

Earth thr oil pressure light wire like the little blue one for the alternator to make the light come on (ign switched on)

Sounds to me like a wiring issue if they both dont work.

Have you put the relay back in that you took out? Check all the fuses too, one of then provides power to the instruments.

Good luck
