gingergman
no not yet, but ive tried a few motors so it cant be getting power to it, by any chance, does the wiring from the passinger side mix in to the wiring from the drivers side somewhere along the line? because when i cahanged the drivers door was when it stopped lol

Guest Cabbytech
Check your earths as well, could just be that.

gingergman
had a good day on the car today, attempted the window last, had my mate with me who understands electrics alot better than me lol. have found out it is a bad earth, all the wires on the passinger loom are live, so ive gotta find the earth, there is alot down in the drivers side footwell behind the speaker i know, but is there anymore anywhere? and if it is the earth behind the speaker how come everything else still works lol
allblue
If you are getting live to the passengers side, have you tried examining the connectors that connect to the motor? Sometimes corrosion builds up in them or they break internally.
gingergman
yeah i checked all the connectors for power feed, all are fine, one was a bit corroded so i sorted it, im hoping to get it working tommorrow lol,
gingergman
still doesnt want to work the earths seem fine, i tried earthing it from all connections and even the switch, no joy, any ideas? relay? or would that make both windows not work? Guest Cabbytech
Stu, if you dont have it working by the time ford fair comes around, i will have a look at it for you, in the mean time have you checked that the motor goes up and down ok ? if not, run 2 wires direct from the battery with a 10A fuse in the +12v wire, and connect directly to the window motor, if nothing happens reverse the wires on the motor and try again, i did say in an earlier post it could be an earth prob, and i still think that is where your prob is, hope this helps. gingergman
the motor is ok, tried 3 others, they didnt work when connected but did when connected to the drivers side loom, i do think its a earh but im too confused by it now lol, the window is up so think im just gunna leave it stuck up for the time being lol, And cheers tony, if you can spare a few mins at ford fair that would be great and would be very appreciated

Guest shaun
Know it sounds silly but have you checked the connection in passenger kick panel still connected? is there a live and earth coming to here? did you check the wiring loom in the door shut? as they break in the rubber and maybe shorting out that's were mine broke before and my m8's done the same Edited July 20, 2010 by shaun
gingergman
everything in the door gets power so the wires in so the wires in the door shut should be fine, there was no earth anywhere tho, think the haynes says it should be in drivers footwell but all seemed fine? gingergman
it has two wires going to it, there is a earth off the drivers switch
Guest dodgy01
it has two wires going to it, there is a earth off the drivers switch so i i get this right this is what you should get when the switch is pressed up you get a live at 1 of the pins and when it is pressed down the live goes to the other pin and the same with the negative so for example window up = pin 1 live pin 2 neg window down pin 1 neg pin2 live this is what should happen
