Well after finding a mk5 escort 1.6 efi cabby tucked away in an yard local to me that had not moved in about 3years i made some enquiries only to be told that he could no longer find the log book but would try, a week later i got told he still could not find it but as it had had 2 auto electricians at it and nither could get it to run, if i could move it i could take it so one A frame later it was on my drive.

Well this is how it sits at the minute as i found laods of wiring faults within the engine bay and the main reason it would not run is some knacker had put a carb/mfi flywheel on it so the tps had nothing to run off hence it would not spark, once i got it running i left it alone then set about finding more problems that the car had but since i found the rusted power roof relays and all sort of weird and wonderful problems i went back to tidy up the engine bay only to find it would never start again so i'm now putting it on carb to save all the hassle so that should not take long???

Well been on swapping all the parts over between a carb head and a MFI injecton head for an hour before i went out for dinner as the carb head is no good on a efi bottomend, so wont be long before it up and running, hopefully :steeringwheel:

does any one know if all the mk5 cabbies had a strutt brace fitted, as its mighty close to the std mk4 air pan and if its put in reverse it might lift up and hit the bar???

also the 16" spokes wernt with it either i just had them lying about at mine so put them stright on to tidy it up better than the non matching rusty 13" steels that were on :steeringwheel:

Well yes and no as i will be doing all work my self sometimes time consuming jobs can sometimes get the better of me as i can end up working long hours at work and not get a lot of sparetime to sort out easy jobs that just take a while to do.

Well new phone means new photos, after having loads and loads of bother trying to find a mk5 escort with a cvh fitted with power steering!!!! i have managed to couple up a zetec bracket with the mk7 power steering pump and the mk5 alternator eveything marries up nicely, just need to make one threaded tube at work to get it all fitted together.

looks almost std. :banana_dance:

Well project took a mega nose-dive after i started to pile money into it and it started to go no-where fast and still 1/2 the electrics would now work so sold it on on e-bay for £150 and replaced it with a mk4 cabby.
