The Story So Far...

I've had my 1988 Mk4 XR3i cabriolet for about 10 days now.

 

Bought it as a 1 owner car in azure blue with 116k on the clock.

 

Since then replaced electric aerial, weather strips and front indicators with clear ones.

 

On my way home the exhaust was blowing so took it off to find a big hole in the top of the back box. Replaced the system with a scorpion stainless system.

 

Found some genuine spotlights and brackets and fitted them.

 

Today I replaced the electric hood motor and rams. I found that the mounting had sheared off so was only working on 1 ram. Now all sorted and works fine.

 

Fitted some mk6 escort GTI wheels so found some suitable wheel bolts.

 

Holding off putting the interior back together while I decide whether to replace rear speakers.

 

Next job is a cam belt replacement followed by a full re paint and front seat rebuilds. Should have taken some pics but might start tomorrow..
