Guest adi
I cleaned up all the gunk the rocker gasket leak left today, painted the exhaust heat shield, and started cleaning up all the flaking rust on the passenger front suspension, also painted the brake caliper, but no pic of that yet. Does anyone know what this plug is for? It was never connected to anything! It comes from a small bit of loom, with a single brown wire that goes to pin like plug below the thermostat housing. Escort Cabriolet Club
Its coming along nicely mate, the engine bay has come up a treat, I was not fussed on that rocker cover when it was on its own but now its all fitted it works well !!! That random plug may be for the Fog Lights or the Air-Con, I know you don't have it but they might have just put the loom in !!! :icon_salut_gb:

Guest adi
Took a better pic of the caliper, nice and red Had a mess around trying to make the roof sit on properly (just in case it has to come out of the garage in the rain) and I've come to the conclusion that the whole frame is twisted and it'l never be right This pic shows a broken pin on the roof mechanism, tried drilling it out to put a bolt in, but none of my drill bits wanna go through it! Guest adi
Christmas has come early Been busy stripping the doors for the purposes of ebay and ended up with a nice pile of a window mech/motor, electric/heated mirrors, mirror switch, a door, and 2 front windows to sell

Guest adi
Been prepping the passenger door today, removed the rub strip and found a bit of a dent so I smoothed that as best I can, and skimmed some filler over some tiny dings in the door, and put some primer on some area of bare metal After the last pic was taken I smoothed the filler and had to do a second skim of filler, smoothed that and primed again. Guest adi
Got the door handle off and smoothed for paint, also fitted the window and mechanism properly, so the window goes up and down as it should now. Done a last rub down, just gotta get some paint now!
Guest Cabbytech
Your cab should look great when you have finished it, the interior does look mint, can i suggest changing the cam belt asap, with it being stood all that time i wouldnt like to risk it after all the hard work you have put into it. keep the pics coming... Guest adi
The interior is lovely tbh, apart from a tiny bit of what seems to be some window glue on the back of the passenger headrest, and I'm not sure how to get that off! It just lets it down, but then I am pretty anal when it comes to cleaning! Cambelt is on the to do list, just wanna get the MOT related stuff done and get the bodywork looking presentable so I'm not driving around in a rat cabby lol. It very rarely gets run now as its out of petrol and I just push it in and out of the garage most of the time
chaz
Ask any car valeter for some tips or what you can use to remove the glue stain from the head rest. Good uck with your resto.

Guest adi
Engines out and depending on what happens with my dads mondeo V6, the CVH might not go back in. oh and I installed a reliable 0.5bhp motor!
Guest turbonutter69
How long did it take to get out and was it difficult?
Guest adi
About a day, as I did it without a crane, I dropped it out the bottom on a jack and lifted the car up really high! Depending on what happens with my dads mondeo, a V6 might find its way in my car...
