Guest adi
Picked this up last night, hasn't been on the road for 2 years, so thought I'd save it from scrap... It's in desperate need of a new roof for a start, and a little bit of welding on the rear chassis, but nothing serious :)It did look a lot worse than this, but gave it a clean today and a bit of a hoover
chaz
Good on you to save her mate, car to good to be scrapped. Interior looks new.
Guest adi
Interiors in really good nick apart from a few stains on the carpet, but mats will cover that. Got 2 mint doors with it too! Although I only need the passenger one due to rot on mine. Also the rear arches don't have any rust at all! Guest adi
after my hands started hurting rubbing down filler, i decided to have a break and de-badge it...
Guest adi
crossed a few things off the MOT failure list today, stripped and cleaned the rear brakes, sorted a flexi brake hose, and diagnosed a few other problems so I know what I need to buy
gingergman
the body does look tidy, no major rust :icon_salut_gb:
Guest adi
haha "looks" tidy, the front wings have had plated welded to them at the bottom, hence the filler work I'm finishing off, and there is a small hole in the passenger sill, which I think I'l cut out and fibreglass over, then have RS skirts to cover it

Had a late night tonight grinding down the welds and rubbing down the massive amount of filler that was on it. This is as far as I've got

Guest adi
Cheers for the replies, might try and get that side wing smooth by tonight. But looks like the door will have to come off for me to do the job properly. My mate with a garage next to mine is breaking his RS1800 fezzy, and I'm hopefully having the wheels off that. Guest adi
Done some more today, rubbed down more filler and primed it to see how much more smoothing to do, started removing engine bay parts to clean up the engine bay and take out the cobwebs... It was dark when I finished up today! Its a good job you said about the badges cuz I was just gonna bin them! The faces of them are a bit worn where the silver is though. But yea you're welcome to them mate, give me a PM about it if you like.
Guest adi
Cleaned up the other side this morning, might not look like a great improvement, but it is to me! I'm not trying to get it looking concourse, I just hate all the cobwebs and greasy dirt stuck to the engine bay and chassis! I'm not happy with how clean the coolant bottle cap is, so gonna get a shiny new yellow one
Guest adi
You lot might not like my new colour scheme under the bonnet, but I do And didn't fancy doing the expected red stuff... Guess what this is.... Also done the front gearbox mount. Robbed a few bits off Jonny's escort we scrapped today, got a spangly non leaking radiator, much cleaner coolant resevoir, horn, and washer jet pump. All thats needed for MOT now is a few bits of welding, which will be done soon
Escort Cabriolet Club
The engine bay is coming up nice mate, can't wait to see the rocker cover fitted in some pics !!!
Guest adi
Found a slight problem with the new radiator, as it was off a zetec with air con, its considerably bigger than the original... The bottom mount for the radiator should bolt up to the chassis, as you can see its about 4 inches lower than it should be. This pic shows the size difference of the old and new On the plus side I fitted a newer header tank.. Stopped the annoying "low screenwash" light out on the dash by bridging the sensor plug... Fitted the new washer jet pump, but this one has the outlet for a rear window washer, obviously I don't have that so I plugged it... Refitted the airbox with a new filter
