Hello as some of you know i have been blabbing on about doing this for months well eventually got my engine and thought i should get started with sharing with you all the joys of engine conversion its being done on a fairly tight budget counting pennys and so on.

Okay took a trip over to carlise to pick it up only 60 miles away and coughed up a modest £375 quid this included engine starter motor altanator ecu sub frame gearbox drive shafts wireing loom and exhaust manifold and managed to fit it all into the rear of my ford focus estate much to the disgust of wor lass ha ha

getting the engine into the car was much easier than getting the bloody thing out in the end we had to remove the mtx75 gearbox in the car then took three of us to lift the engine out many thanks to lee for coming down in good cloths might i add and help us lift the thing out and into the garage here are some pics of how it looked

On monday gone began stripping the engine down and seeing exactly what i got for my money the engine is in great condition extreamly dirty but i can deal with that over the next few weeks the plan is on the 4th of july the 130bhp 1.8 comes out and the engine bay can be cleaned and reconditioned and the 2000 lump dropped in over the space of a week the cams looked clean though will be going in the next few months to make way for some fast road piper cams.

but for now im working with what i have so have begun with the inlet manifold i was going to strip the whole thing and polish the lot nursing my OCD but have come to the conclusion that just doing the top section and spraying the rest in matt black will look much better what do you think ?

right last post and then upto date lol i was thinking of polishing the rocker cover too but i didnt want it looking too much so spoke to my uncle who kindly took it to work and powder coated it matt black i have seen so many done in red i thought this would keep with the inlet manifold theme and to be honest i was a little unsure about it when i got it back today then i put the chrome rocker on and am really pleased with it.

its back to the grind for the next few days working on the inlet manifold again to get it rubbed down to base metal and polished up will keep you all posted i have other bits in the post coming soon so keep watchin will pop up more pics as they come in.

Whats your opinion of the cover ? let me know before its bolted on for good. lol
