Guest Alanman
Right, after the Classic Ford show I've now decided that I'm going to try to make it a minter, or at least a good clean example anyway. Even though it's called crap cab and it looks rough, I've always defended the Cab and how solid the car is, so we've made the decision to rescue it from it's current state to allow it to stand as a good Cabriolet and fly the Blue oval flag proudly. I started last night under the bonnet, cleaning (and polishing) the ORIGINAL inner wings and bulk head to a gleaming shine. After removing all the shite I found the fuse box tray and battery tray are perfect. There is a lot more work to do, but most of it will be sorted when it gets its new engine (which it needs desperately) We have a RS1600 alloy rocker cover to give it a bit of class but everything else is just being cleaned (or repainted) After I've done the engine bay I can start on the outside. If you look down the lines of the car it is as straight as when it came out the factory. There is some work needed but nothing serious. The bonnet and boot lid are the worsed and the front bumper. Anyway here's what I've done so far......... Check out the original welds on the wings. Crap cab?? Not any more!!! lol You could eat your dinner off it. Once its all sorted the last thing will be a new roof to finnish it off nicely. Alanman Edited June 4, 2009 by Alanman
chaz
Good work mate, the cab never deserved that name and now she's making you eat your words. So now you are given a few days to give the cab a more deserving name.

Guest Alanman
Okay, I've had another good night. Changed rocker cover and cleaned a few more bits like the petrol pipes and HT leads. I just need to take battery off and clean properly behind there and looking at the photo there's a little bit behind the fuse box that needs a little more work. It's basically clean now and if I go any further I'll need to start a detailing thread. lol. I think I'm going to paint the inlet chamber black to match the rocker cover. Not sure yet. What do you think?
