RobMk4TwinCarb
Just a couple of rubbish pics of the latest cabriolet in a long line lol. Had a new clutch, bearing and plate fitted, koni fully adjustable's on the front with lowering springs, sprayed the dash black(grey dash always annoyed me), put my half leathers in it, some infinity components in the back pods, fitted omp strut brace and magnex backbox. Got some spax adjustable's for the back but no springs yet, got some new lifters to put in aswell and all the bits for a good service just not got round to any of it yet. Still needs loads doing to make it a nice tidy motor but it's not too bad.

RobMk4TwinCarb
cheers guys. I wish the rims looked like that all the time lol. It was £700 t+t'd with the clutch on it's last legs £40 and getting very dirty, cut to bits and proper stressed at points sorted that, barely got a spot of rust on it few chips here and there needs a full respray to make it nice really but that's not happening any time soon!! RobMk4TwinCarb
Bit of an update since last year....I have done basicly nothing, put clear indicators on. Until the other week when I realised I had to change the gearbox so I cleaned up the cradle and bits sprayed them same red as the car, cleaned the gearbox up a bit aswell and done a shoddy refurb on some rear wishbones. Front cossie brakes on the way though
Guest shaun
looks ok Rob did you put new gearbox mounts on after?

RobMk4TwinCarb
cheers guys, I wasnt so sure about the red but it looks good in the engine bay now it's on so i'll probably leave it. Have taken all the ABS off it aswell and put some new pipes in and non abs driveshafts. Also put adjustable spax and lowering spring on one side at the rear today, the other side can wait did enough today lol.
gingergman
why did you take the abs off? ive never had it on a cab so dunno if its actually any good lol?? off topic, i sent the gaitor today mate, was gunna yesterday but like most, forgot it was bank holiday lol.
RobMk4TwinCarb
Well the ABS is not the greatest and is a pain in the ass when it comes to taking the gearbox off as both the modulators are bolted to it all gets in the way(and ive done that alot lately, getting sick of taking it apart just to put it back together again), plus I didn't know how well it would work with cossie 4 pots on the front, someone told me they would work better without it. Just gotta get the siezed bleed nipples out of the rear drum casing put some new one's in then can bleed it up and get the poor thing some ticket and rent.. Nice one mate I actually found mine a few days after I paid dam children hiding things lol!
RobMk4TwinCarb
Well I sorted all the brakes out and took it for its test it FAILED, handbrake 11% efficient (I noticed it wasnt the greatest but 11% jeez) headlight too high 1 of, side repeater not working, 1 brake pipe corroded and 1 tyre under the limit. The brakes in general passed which I was happy about as well as the emissions which were great lol 1.13% CO with a max of 3.5 and 583ppm HC with a max of 1200. I am going to sort the brake pipe, headlight and side repeater the garage will whack some part worns on the back as the other rear was close to the limit and im considering asking them to do the handbrake too as trying to do anything on that with the car just up on a jack is not fun! Can't wait until it's on the road again I found some old pics of the blue one, one of it with my crx thought some people might be interested...
