  1. why not just buy a focus cc it will be easier that trying to fit a folding metal roof
  2. hi yes the ghia has the wiring for the heated front screen but it will need the wiring in the engine bay and the extra fuse that fitted next to the battery and if you get the engine bay it connects to the wiring loom to a muti plug on the drivers side engine bay just below the windscreen next to the abs pump (if fitted) and this engine bay loom also has the connetors for the windscreen
  3. in the 80s ford used pirelli tyres and i think the type was p6
  4. you have to take the tank out to get to the connector but can check the power at the cut off switch. power should be going in and out of the switch
  5. yes the pump is in the tank have you check that power is getting to the pump
  6. hi i use to have an efi escort which sounds like you have got and i think that the vavle you are talking about is the idle vavle thats next to the air box
  7. hi have you been in the boot because ford fitted a cut out switch under the spare wheel which if its when knoted by removing the spare wheel it will turn off and need reseting so try this first and then check relay
  8. hi the cabriolet sills are bigger than the hatchback sills thats why ford made ones for the cabriolet when you wanted side skirt when new if you want to fit the rs2000 type you can fit these but when you fit them the front jacking point cover gets pushed out sligthly if you want to make the cover to fit flat you need to reshape the sill just behind the jacking point
  9. hi in the ford brochure in 1991 all mark 5s came with a 55 litre fuel tank
  10. Hi hotels look great Avril. Guess only query is what is there to do in the forest? Will there be enough for two nights stay or could we find ourselves ready to move onto Amsterdam but having to stay the extra night cos we are booked in? Happy to stay two nights in Amsterdam and make the most of it especially if Paul is going to fly over? What does everyone else think? Happy to go with the majority, Thanks again Avril for looking at all this. Simon .
  11. Hi there - thanks for these suggestions- both look good - happy to stay in either. what do other people think regards Simon
  12. Hi all - have found this website that shows hotels near the Nurburgring - approx 10 to 15 miles away - as these seem a lot cheaper than the ones on the ring - what do you think? Plus some of the ones on the ring charge Euro 24 parking per night http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/where_to_stay.php
  13. Hi all - we have now booked our ferry crossings too. We will start looking at hotel options near Nurburgring/Amersterdam and maybe draw up a shortlist so people can say which they prefer before we book etc. Just to mention on the Stena ferry, if you have booked the evening meal it is in the restaurant (it doesn't have a buffet like the older ships) so we need to decide what time everyone wants to eat and how many of us there will be so we can book a table together. Looking forward to it already ! I have been watching our nurburging laps that Ian and Paul have posted and can't wait to thrash round there again!
  14. i got air con on my mark 6 and ford change the air con on the mark 6 so there are two systems just on the mark 6 so getting the correct parts could be hard and also getting the parts in good condition is hard i use to have a 1990 scorpio 4x4 with air con fitted to it that wasnt working and to get it working cost me £600 do all the work my self even when i got my escort the air con wasnt working and cost me £250 to get it working doing the work my self so if you want air con you will be looking at a lot of money so think about before you get into a money pit
  15. hi all all paid and booked for my cab on 2.20 q intermediate
  16. i got a flyer today form fordfair if you go to fordfair.co.uk you can book times now 23 jan i think that a good time to do is 2.20pm session q intermediate as the same as we did in 2011
  17. Hi everyone - does anyone want to join us on the track at Silverstone at Ford Fair 2012 as i think it would be good to get as many cabs on the track as poss on the same time? Anyone else interested?
  18. Hi we are definitely still going - do we have dates? As soon as we know the dates we will book our ferry as we are going to use our tesco vouchers to get the crossing free. So if you aren't aware you can use tesco vouchers for ferries, its definitely worth doing. karen and simon
  19. simon and karen will be going again as we had an excellent time on the 2010 trip. We will be going via harwich/hook of holland on the ferry as it was a good way to travel and have a good meal/sleep before getting off first thing in the morning ready to drive down. We would like to spend 2 days at nurburgring as last time the nurburgring day was too short - its such a lot of fun and there are lots of things to do there i.e. watch supercars, go round on two different days if busy or weather bad, rollercoaster, go karting, american diner, etc etc. Would love to do Amsterdam - that was a real scream but too short. Put us on the list and keep us updated with dates so we can book off work etc. See you at a meeting soon. Have a fantastic Christmas everyone. Karen and Simon
