I put a padded block of wood on top of the wings with rope on the gearbox, a jack under the gearbox and then took the gearbox cradle off! the drainage nut can only come off with gearbox off or cradle as i did it what a pain in the arse but i changed a rubber mount while i was at it. Changes into gear a lot smother now i can def tell the difference its made. Also it only had about two litres of oil in it so it was litre short!

Take a pic of your car front on then one of the bumper and then use photoshop etc to see what it would look like im gonna do the same later with diff wheels to see what ones i like

I think thats the way im gonna have to do it i have heard of a device thats sucks the oil through the dipstick but im not gonna get hold of one today or stupidly i could put a long lenghth of clear tube bodged onto the end of my hoover pipe, wait until most of the oil is in the clear tube then turn the hoover off to empty it etc hmmm i might actually try this instead off taking a driveshaft off ha ha

Me and a few people i know have had the same problem and we have only had a few bent valves, suppose its just one of those things and is different - engine and speed wise when the cam belt snaps etc

You might have gotten away with a bent valve or two thats usually the case, obv your gonna have to take the head off and take a look wont take you long to do

Any ideas on how to empty the box of all its oil withought taking a driveshaft out? Forward facing down a very steep hill maybe? (Joking) or how about a fuel hand syphon thingy?? Bought some fresh oil to put in as im sure it must need renewing by now!

I agree with escort si 130 - try Wynns hydraulic valve & lifter treatment lubricant and a engine flush and fresh oil would do them good too Myself in the past ive took them all out and popped the springs and bearings out and give them a clean in gunk and thats made them quieter etc (you have to prime them tho before they go back in)

She has no points or any convictions for that matter so yeh fingers crossed, might appeal it because there was a van in front of us and we were slowing down from a 50 area to a 30 and the van and passing cars etc were concealing the exact spot were the 30 signs/limit is. Obv there gonna be no chance but worth a try

B####rds had my wife last week (37 in a 30 not even a built up/accident black spot area either) so we have got a £60 fine coming , went out last night about 6 o clock and the lazer mobile speed camera van was out sneakily in a bus stop were its never parked ever before i didnt think they came out at night!! is it efi or mfi ? my efi had a dodgy rubber joint on the internal fuel pump could be that? and if it was the timing it would be running very rough sounding etc

Very clean and only small minor mods

have you tried pushing the hood support bar inside the roof forward? if you climb in the back put your hands inside the roof lining (either side) and you will find a support bar, try and push that forward then put hood down,up etc try it again and then the roof should shut ok hopefully.

Ive got the full break down, onward travel, key cover, euro insurance, 2000 miles, and excess insurance all for £600 i think it is but my wife is 23 so that doesnt help havnt got a clue what they have valued it at and i havnt yet told them how much BHp im getting from my exhaust and the replacement cost of the RS optional extras etc let alone telling them about the non standard red paint job i reckon they will value mine at £1000 if im lucky

wow just been on their site for a quote for me and my wife, declaring that its got side skirts, front/rear spoilers (RS optional extras) and a ss exhaust and they want £926!!!! saying that when i declared them to quick fit - aviva they wanted summat stupid too looks like the skirts etc are coming off
