Guest mr grady
sorry if this is a common thread, but im getting very peeved with my car becoming a swimming pool. all the water collects in the rear passenger foot area. the roof does not have any tears or holes, but if i lower it just after some rain, there is water in the metal framework of the roof. this pours out when the roof is up and i pull away, soaking who ever is in the front seats....drivers side is worse. any advice or suggestions? thanks for taking time to read this. Escort Cabriolet Club
I have the same problem with my Mk5a, if you have the same cab then listen up, I recon its the old favorite, the battery tray, plus, on the passenger door at the bottom you will see the join in the rubber seals, I think it might drip through there !!! But look on the bright side, the rear foot well is always clean, and rear passengers can wash there feet lol !!!!

Guest 6tracy9
Mine does it on the drivers side rear foot well!!! Defo not the battery tray - but think it may be the rubbers at the bottom of the door!
Vincygav
Luckily I have not come across this problem. I can only advise to check the battery tray area. Clean the sill drain holes out with the mud that clogs them up. remove the front plastic inner wheelarch liners then clean the mud that gets stored behind it at the bottom. Next other thing it to put some sealant at the top of the door frame rubbers.
