Stephen Bearded Minky Hill
Hi all!! Just wondering if anyone knows what is acceptable mileage wise on a turbo head gasket. I've done around 40k since the last one but now it's gone again. Is this about right?
Ian71
I would say thats pretty good Stephen, once you upgrade the engine i think they are more prone to going m8. (going down the strip at the pod dont help lol)
Stephen Bearded Minky Hill
Yeh I thought it was fairly good lol. It's had a few runs at the pod and round Silverstone so it's probably due
Ian71
Yea ,deffo, might consider a stainless steel one m8,got em my 2 turbos
Stephen Bearded Minky Hill
I did think about those but I've heard mixed reviews. Most seem to reckon genuine ford gaskets are good for 350bhp. The last one that popped was a felpro gasket. That blew between cylinders 2 and 3.
Ian71
Normal place m8,mine bin ok on stainless, they say will blow hoses b4 gasket, also have taken off and put back on fiesta.

Stephen Bearded Minky Hill
Never lol. Hmm what to do lol. I did get a decompression plate last time just incase the head had been skimmed too much but they said hardly anything had been taken off and they only did a light skim. So decided against it because some say to use 2 gaskets and some use some type of sealer to attach to the block. I sold that anyway lol. What brand gasket is yours mate?
