Guest Glenn65
Hi guys, can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the rear floor pan from a saloon and the cabbie. I plan to fit a towbar, but have only come across saloon towbars. I want to pull a jet ski with it.
Guest Smiler
The mk3 Cabrio was built by modifying an Estate bodyshell. They were converted by Karman. I'm assuming that the mk4 is the same.
Guest Glenn65
Thanks for the quick reply. So maybe an estate towbar then. I'll wait to see any more replies, and take it from there. Fingers crossed I can source one, recon it'll be pretty cool having the old girl towing it!
Guest Smiler
Funnily enough my cab had a tow-bar fitted when I bought it, apparently for the same thing, pulling a jet-ski! Must go with the image/lifestyle.
RScab
You'll need 1 Suited for a Cab the Tintop one I had bolted to rear panel - Cab doesn't have it Unless you get 1 that bolts directly to the chassis & boot floor Floor is the same as the Tintop apart from the Strengthen section between the inner arches Mk3 & Mk4 have different rear lower valances & towing points Estate Floor is totally different

RScab
Its only the lower section that's different so a Mk3 Cab & Mk4 Cab should be the same The Cabs have a rear inner support panel just above the floor panel Tintop's don't have it John If you have one m8 can you show some close up pic's of the top part that bolts to the rear panel Cheers
Guest Glenn65
A chap on the Facebook page has offered me this one for £25 plus postage saying it's off a mk4, do you think it looks right? John do you know if yours looks in better nick?
Guest Glenn65
Seen this on eBay- http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/270933620731 If it's only the rear valance that's different, technically it should fit? This looks like the towing are can be removed.
