RScab
Deane Can you select the gears when the engine is not running?
Guest Deane James Wilson
No and not even when the car is off
RScab
Check gear linkage first - it may have slipped If that's all Ok then it will be gearbox If it was the clutch you would still be able to select gears with engine off
Ian71
Gearboxs are cheap to buy second hand, but costs vary from garage to garage on fitting.

RScab
LSD will be harder to find & more expensive If your runnin a standard engine setup then it may be better to run a standard box as you'll not see much of an advantage for the extra expense

Guest Bacon Boy
Hi Buddy, I don't know if you've got this sorted yet, but one thing to check if you haven't already is that there is actually some oil on the box. I had a similar gear problem and it turned out to be a lack of transmission oil. If you've just got the car it could be down to the fact it had a leak. regards, BB
