Guest tonyj87
Hi I bought a white mk4 1987 cabriolet on Monday,it's been stood since 2011 but it fired up and cleaned up great,in fact it's very clean for its age as it was waxoiled. Unfortunately Tuesday afternoon the ignition switch caught fire all on its own (no one touched the car since day before) people have told me they have heard of this happening before with escorts and according to Google ford recalled them in America for this problem. I was wondering if anyone has heard of them catching fire all on they're own. I now need all the parts to replace the interior, windscreen, clocks, roof etc if anyone is breaking one or has spares I'm in the market for some.i can't bear to scrap it it's in too good condition. (On the outside lol) Cheers
