Seat Won't Tilt

Has anyone had this happen to there's because I wondered if it was a common problem? the drivers side seat won't tilt when I'm lifting the release handle I have to keep moving the catches manually at the bottom with my fingers it's a right pain in the rear end! I just wondered if anyone else has had it happen and is there a cheap fix before I take it apart? any advice or help would be great cheers guys.

You'll need to replace the seat tilt cable inside the back rest - not no bad a job tbh

ive got a zip tie on my half leather recaros works perfect,, not worth replacing the cable as the seats are in need of serious repair, luckily i should be getting my fresh newly trimmed ones back soon

This happened to me with the mk5. I had to keep hammering the bottom catch at the seat base and spraying it with WD40 as it was seized up from when I didn't used the car for about 3-4 years. I eventually got it to work in the end.
