Well i don't think many will remember me. i used to own a mk4 amethyst which i always regretted selling. after 5 nearly 6 years without a cabby and going through cars a plenty. i decided to get another amethyst.......well that was the plan. but unfortunately they are very hard to find in good nick.

well some of you may remember diane from here who had an all-blue. well this came up and i couldn't resist. i'm proper happy again to have a cabby and i can't wait to get things moving on it

Here she is when i got her.

well after i cleaned it up it was time for an MOT. had been sat for about 1 to nearly 2 years IIRC.

Well it failed on rear drum brakes. they didn't work under pedal and only worked one side on the handbrake. so rather than sort the cylinders and shoes out i decided to go straight in for a rear disc conversion

Hello drums

Nice one that, I remember seeing that car when it was on display at XROC shows.

That inspection pit looks like it could take a car out,

Ha yeah that pit is for coaches. there was a fine line when parking the car over it. i would deffo cry if it dropped down there.

good to see your still interested in cabs mate, so many people come and go! tidy look se500. ive only seen a couple of amethest cabs for sale in the last few years, and they've been sheds! a rare cabriolet for sure!

so whats the plans for this one?

amethyst will always be my first choice for sure. but i'm very happy with this one.

this one is getting a full resto. its only done 52k from new. has the original phone in the car too. there is a small bit of rust where the heater blower goes. and abit on the front cross member as normal and abit coming on the wings where the front bumper screws in.

i have ordered 2 new wings, a passenger headlight panel, cross member. after ford fair next year it will be off the road on a spit getting blasted and resprayed along with the new panels etc. i have ordered new headlights and front indicators. i'm trying to get the car looking new again.

the leather seats in the front have collapsed on the edges like most do, so i'm trying to source 2 front recaros so my woman can re-trim them in the same way the originals where done. i am pretty sure i will drop a zetec turbo lump in the car next year. but i will be restoring the original engine to put back in when the time comes to sell her on.
