badger Posted July 8, 2012 Share Posted July 8, 2012 well this all started in feb when i managed to locate a mk3 rs turbo gearbox with lsd so decided to totally refurb my old mk4 box and put the insides of the mk3 rs box in it. i had never done a gearbox so thought the challange would be good. i totally strip down the old box and sent it away to be blasted and painted when it returned i put all new bearings in the casing and striped the rs box down and replaced all the bearings on the shafts i then reassambled it all with new gaskets and seals.. it has since been sat in the garage waiting for the right day to do it but everytime it was nice (both days lol) i was busy and then i decided it was being done this weekend. i also fitted a lightened flywheel while i was at it just to pick the revs up a little quicker i did buy a new clutch but the one i took out was like new so refitted it and saved the other one for spare. here are some pictures of my work.
