badger
hi mate i'm not sure on the gearbox but if you have the 2.0ltr zetec you will need to change the sump and strainer for an escort one and also the water pump as they run in the opposite direction you will need to modify the engine mount and use the origanal alternator mount from the cvh i have the rs turbo gearbox on with the lsd i i had to change the flywheel and clutch both to the escort one from a zetec it just makes things easy with the gearbox mountings and drive shafts etc etc. if you need any more info just give me a shout. badger

Guest Smiler
Have a look at my website: http://www.auto-tat....ades Index.html Select 'Engine' from the menu down the left hand side. Then 'Zetec' There are some page links at the bottom of that page that give clear details with photo's. Smiler. Guest Donkeyx
Just had a look, that's a great help thanks, will it still be the same clutch and flywheel for the 6 speed box?
Guest Lee81
The flywheel and clutch is easy just use the st170 flywheel and clutch. Your biggest problem is getting the gearbox mounted. It requires chassis work to fabricate clearance and a new mounting position. Firms charge around £800 for that part of the work. Next problem is your going to have to convert the gearstick to a cable operated arrangment. Do able but again your going to have to strip the interior so access is there to weld and fabricate potensially using parts from a focus. Guest Donkeyx
Once again thanks gmfor the help guys, I can do the fab work my self so that's not a problem, do you know what has to be done to the chassis?
Guest Lee81
I've heard the gearbox casing is larger so will foul on the left hand chassis leg. This will need a section removing / forming to go around the new gearbox. The mount itself is also in a different position to the ib5. So you'll need to form this in the right place. Your best offering the gearbox up removing the section of rail. Then offer it up to see where the new mount needs to be. Once you have that sussed it just a case of welding it all up. The gearstick setup just need form as per focus so i'd remove a section of metal with everything on from a focus and then offer it up to the escort and cut / weld as required
