Guest athens13
Thought I`d ask before I do anything...I`ve been thinking of fitting a wind deflector to my mk4 cab, not because it looks good, but for its claimed functionality. For 26 years I`ve been driving around without one,and that`s ok at low speed, but over 35mph it gets tiresome to be honest. So, do they actually work even at high speed? Lets say I`m going 80-100mph (turbo cab) will the deflector do its job,or will rip away and fly off? Surely some of you must have experience with this wind deflector from Germany, please give me some feedback!
Guest Rustler
Hi Athens.... I note you didn't get any feed back on your "WINDSCHOTT" question....Must be quite a few out there with some info...but....there -u-go..?? I'm looking at buying one , I understand that the main company in Germany produces two models ,and I think that the club are agents for them. If by chance you've now bought one ,I'd be very interested to know how effective they are.. Thanks Mate...................Rustler......."The Oldest Cabbier".... ianxr3i
I have got a wind deflector for my MK4 cab & my MK6 cab. I have got no concern about going near or just over the speed limit without losing the wind deflector
Guest RelaxedDiver
They do work well at speed, they also keep your feet warm as the wind doesnt blow under the seat :-)
allblue
I brought a new bodi one for my MK6 cab last month. Works very well with the roof down and all windows up. Well worth it. Just make sure it is connected properly. The rear of the deflector is further secured by the roof cover, so it should never just fly off the car. Also noticed that if you leave it in the car with the roof up overnight, you get that distinctive new car smell. Bonus!
Guest athens13
Thanks for the replies people! Looks like I`m getting one then... as soon as I save up some cash. Really want to try this thing out! New car smell sounds good, new floor mats almost did the job for me! Will post about my experience eventually. Summer is just around the corner! badger
hi athens13 when we went to germany paul had a wind deflector on his car and we traveled at 120 mph down the autoban with out any problem. so should be no probs at all.
Guest athens13
120mph that`s a real test! How about the windwhirls, did you guys have the windows up or down? I went close to 100mph once, no deflector and windows down, and it felt like WWI fighter plane.
Guest Mejojo
Wind deflectors are a great addition. Really stops the swirling in the cab. You loose the back seats effectively but awesome for motorways with the windows up n no hair flapping in ya face. N with dreadlocks, it hurts when you get whipped on the face with ya hair. Don't sound like you have that problem tho. But anyways. They work really well.
Guest Rustler
Thanks "Anthens" for asking the question, and everyone else for your input, ....but... Does this info apply to both the cheapy and the De Lux deflectors? We're thinking about buying "A CHEAPY" due to the fact that our dog ,a Spaniel, acts as our..."Rear Gunner" and occupies the back seat totally,(as per our Avtar) Consequently we can't entertain the De Lux version which covers the back seat and connects to the roof cover.....Dont think he'd like being "Under Cover"..!! Guest athens13
Thanks for the input Mejojo, if that`s the case maybe I`ll skip on the haircut!. Rustler, I guess you cover the gunner,or make him co-pilot...my dog always made a move to come to the front. Suppose the delux version can be modified for trips with the dog maybe? I`m wondering about that.
