Guest G120CVC
I have had and repaired escort mk3's and 4's since 1986, so when I was looking for a new engine for my mk4 5 door, I came across this crashed cabbie, I hatched a plan to repair it. CARBENCH, my jig manufacture no longer had any brackets, so I lined up the bits the old fashioned way with a tape measure, and by eye! Fitting a complete section from the 1992 mk4 shell (purchased then as a shell only in primer by me!) enabled the repair to be done fairly easily, and the bonus was that it was the same red, although a respray will be done over the winter, with a new hood! Chris
so you used a totally straight near new shell to repair it??
Guest G120CVC
I am breaking the 5 door, as it was / is more valuable in bits. Anyone want a rust free floor

Guest G120CVC
I have bought a cheap hood off ebay, with a good cover, but the frame and padding is shot, but its better than the original ford one that was just about on mine still! I intend to recover my original one with one of the ebay kits, I will post some pictures whne the time comes.
