Guest Savage
Best advice I can give having done one, is life is easier with 2 people. Only for lifting out the old, and lining up the new. The rest of it can be done by one person, and once the rear door cards are off, takes no time at all. I used Feebles guides and they made life a lot easier than Haynes. 1) http://www.escortcabrioletclub.co.uk/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/31-mk5-mk6-roof-change-walkthrough-part-1/ 2) http://www.escortcabrioletclub.co.uk/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/32-mk5-mk6-roof-change-walkthrough-part-2/ Edited August 17, 2011 by Savage
Guest skelly9134
Im only doing the cover and not removing the frame, according to the instructions i have there is no need to remove the frame from its postion, though i do need to cut out the hole for the rear window which i an not looking forward to

Guest skelly9134
ye , olney. started the roof today at 09.00 and finished at 19.00 and i still have not got the back window in. what a nightmare to fit, never again. a note to everyone DO NOT FIT YOUR OWN ROOF SKIN, SAVE THE MONEY AND GET A PRO TO DO IT. Guest Steve
I have northern hoods coming to fit mine thursday I'm not as brave as you lol
Guest skelly9134
It didnt fit in the end anyway, it was around an inch to short and i couldnt close the roof in the end, I have sent it back to the company who isist its the right roof but im not convinced. Mine is a mk6 and the roof they supplied is for a mk5, they insist it fits but I have had another company tell me the mk6 frame is slightly higher then the mk5 . How much are northern roof charging you to come and do yours if you dont mind me asking
