the oil light started filckering the other day, but it only happens when the revs fall back to idle, it had seemed to drive fine, but last night it started tapping really bad when driving, i could hear it over thr music it was very loud, it has plenty of oil in it, but it has also started to struggle and fail to start after a drive and takes a few seconds to idle properly. drove it this morning, sounded fine the whole journey and the oil light stayed off, 10 mins later oil light on again but no nasty noises.

it has oil in it, what you reckon, oil pump? oil pressure? or summink else?

cheers for any help

i was taking this engine out anyway to replace with more problems, a turbo! but i wanted to keep this one as a spare as id never get my money back on it and it is/was a good engine.

might even just stick it in the garage and forget about the shit thing for a long time.

spoke to a friend who is in the know, he reckons pump aswell or blocked oil pick up. i reckon its the latter as it dont always do it and the pump is quite new, still nackerd in my eyes tho, best get that tax sent back and try blag 3 months!

I would say the oil pump, blocked oil pick up or even blocked oil ways. The CVH head oil feed for the cam on cylinder 4 block as well. I would say a new oil pump and engine flush should sort it
