Guest corrie Posted June 15, 2011 Share Posted June 15, 2011 i cant believe what ive just done went to get the car out this morning and it wouldnt start so went to give the starter a knock and slip and smashed my crank sensor. this damn car spends more time in the garage than out. so if anyone has a spare sensor for a 16. efi please please please give me a shout. and next time it wont start it isnt getting its starter kncocked. Guest corrie Posted June 15, 2011 Share Posted June 15, 2011 i tried that and it still didnt start its one of those problems that isnt there all the time and doesnt have a pattern to it either. ive now ripped the fuse box out again and checking the connections on the board, im inclined to think its the damn ford alarm box. its getting to the point i think its time to move it on and sell it. im sick to death of the damn thing now. i want to go back to a car with no electrnic ignition or fuel injection and no stupid alarm and immobiliser they are more hassle than they are worth. Guest corrie Posted June 18, 2011 Share Posted June 18, 2011 i am in 2 minds to be honest especially now ive fixed it and got to the bottom of it not starting. turned out that it was the starter solenoid had jammed open and burnt the contact on the ignition switch so new starter and a new crank sensor and then stripped the ignition switch down and repaired it and it starts every time now. so maybe i will just keep it i think it was a case of me just fed up of it not being reliable when the sun came out but now its fixed i just need the sunshine.
