Rodney
I have a 1998 Cabriolet, is it a 6 or a 7? Are the differences because the 5 is sometimes split into 5a and 5b and therefore mine is a 6 or is the 5a sometime just a 5, the 5b is a 6 and therefore mine is a 7? Presumably the last version (be it 6 or 7) had the Zetec engine? Is there a definative answer? Is there a history anywhere of the Escort Cabby? Guest snoopaloopa
Well mines a mk5 and it has a zetec, not sure what you are really asking as there is the 1,2,3,4,5,5a,5b and 6 I believe I stand to be corrected though as I'm still new to the escort world

You tell me your 5 has the Zetec then my little theory is shot down! The Wiki site lists 1,2,3,4,5,5b and 6 (ie no 5a)? I think some folk refer to the 5b as a 6 and therefore the last version is a 7. Rodney
There's no Mk7... Oh dear, I've just looked at the history tutorial, as suggested to me, and it refers to the last models as Mark 7 (i.e. VII) You can now see why I'm confused! Chris
All the "mk7" escort was amk6 with a digi dash, no other interior exterior changes etc. so it therefore remand a mk6 to Ford
Rodney
All the "mk7" escort was amk6 with a digi dash, no other interior exterior changes etc. so it therefore remand a mk6 to Ford So did Ford use these mark numbers themselves i.e. 1 2 3 4 5a 5b 6 ? If that is the case it makes you wonder why this Cabriolet Club uses 7. Rodney
Guest Feeble
Some clubs do... Just be aware when you're buying parts for the car... Anything that says Mk6 or Mk7 should fit! Doesn't really matter otherwise!
