Guest Sedge
Hi chaps and chapesses i need some help with my R reg mk 6. I had a new hood fitted year and half ago no problems recently though when the hood is raised from the down position it has pushed off the rubber seal around the bottom. I have been told its a common problem and not fixable!!!!!! not to be defeated I am on hear looking for answers. i have watched the hood come up slowly the excess material rubs but can be passed but it seems the main frame is pushing the rubber off the the car and twisting the plastic corner where the hood cover is attached. has the frame moved or has the rubber perished . it looks ok and have tried to re stick it down . waiting on results. and help much appreciated. sedge

allblue
After having the same problem I replaced seal with a better condition one from a 60K mile cabrio that was breaking. That was two years ago now and it's been fine since, You cannot buy new MK6 seals from Ford anymore, Best bet is to source 2nd hand, Stu, I understand Mk5 seals are/were still available from Ford when I last cheked?
