Guest corrie Posted March 17, 2011 Share Posted March 17, 2011 as the rise of classic car thefts especially xr fords are being stolen and not recovered i would like to know how to remove my pics from threads and galleries ive posted in. the reason being the car thieves are using our car forums to view and get information on the location and use of our cars and our habits of where they are being kept. i have copied a section from another site to make people aware of the dangers of things in our posts. maybe the admin can put this as a sticky of the discusion board. To everyone: If you want to be more security minded then blanking number plates on photos is the way to go. Try to avoid giving your number plate out in a thread. Avoid chating in great depth about your car security... dont want to give then a chance to plan an attack Also, take a look on your profile here and what you have put as a location... could you make it a little more vague? Its great to talk about any holidays you may be going on soon but dont be specific when stating when you are going away... nothing worse than coming home to an empty drive. If you do have a feature that allows you to remove the steering wheel (although it aint great for the car) turn the wheel to one side before removing the steering wheel. A lot of thefts now seem to be done without the car even being started. It is just rolled off the premises and sometimes even straight onto a truck. If someone tries to do that (and can't get the steering lock off) the car is only going to go round in circles. If you have a gate use it (especially if it is noisey) its another opportunity to be woken up if the worse should start happening Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
