Guest Andrew Hicks
In 1988 I bought a red 1985 Escort Cabriolet, B538 EAM and reluctantly parted with it in Exeter after about twelve years. I'd love to trace it and even perhaps buy it back again. Recently I idly googled its registration and it showed up on a salvage website up for sale at a site in Avonmouth, having had a ding in the eye, an insurance write off with minor category D damage. I contacted the website who said this was about 18 months ago and that they could not trace the buyer. If you google the registration you'll see that the car is clean, nicely original and in otherwise good condition, a tribute to the fine build quality. In the time I had the car, it ran faultlessly and it took us on many family holidays through France and was a delight to own. I desperately hope that someone bought it and put it back on the road as it was too good to scrap. So can anyone tell where it is now? I'd love to know. If there are no sightings, is it possible to make an enquiry through the DVLA? I await with bated breath. Many thanks, Andrew
gingergman
it doesnt come up as being insured. you can speak to the dvla and they can tell you more, providing the person on the phone wants to!

Thanks so much for this which must mean that the car is either off the road or scrapped. (How could anyone do that to her!) What is the insurance database you checked? Does it give info as to the past? Andrew
