Guest Cabbytech
Hmmm another option is one of those extendable crack bars, like this one of the bay, i have 2 of these because i always manage to misplace one lol. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEALEY-1-2-SQ-DRIVE-EXTENDABLE-BREAKER-BAR-450-600MM-/180547673085?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2a097adbfd
Paul Grainger
Try putting it in 5th gear and and the hand brake on, then from the front of the car put your arm under with a long ring spanner, next pull for England, never failed me yet. Good luck

Guest Rustler
Thanks, Thanks & More Thanks...... Well thanks to Cabbytech and Paul Granger, I've CRACKED that damned Crank Pulley NUT!!!!! Yea..Got me a 1/2" drive 15" ratchet power bar,a 3/8" socket,& a tie down ratchet strop (as used to tie down heavy loads on lorries) Tried pulling by hand ,"NO GO" ,Put strop round garage support pillar and other end round 15" bar handle, chocked all 4 wheels,h/brake on,& 5th gear. Got wife to ratchet up whilst I held bar and strop in place under car,(bar just back from vertical & just clear of floor) Full tension on strop ,still "NO GO"..but with a "gentle" pull on the bar from me....CRACK .."DONE IT". A bit dangerous,Yea,"Dont try this at home" as they say .........but it worked for us.."SO". on we go with W/Pump and belts renewal.... Once Again, Thanks Paul, Cabbytech & Cabby Club.. P/S found that the 3/8" socket was a better fit than an 18mm one.
