Mk4 Steering Column Knocking

any common faults to look at on these? not too sure if its the uj knocking or maybe a worn bush somewhere?

u sure its not the cv joint when does it knock straght line or when u are turning

have you got play in the steering colum

when standing still is there play up and down if so you can get a bush kit and is easy to do

if i rock the steering when stationary, i can hear it and feel it before and after the uj.

Is it just one bush or two ollie? i know thers one just behind the steering wheel, are there more further down the column

where does the other bush fit? thought there was only one behind the steering wheel

Just for future reference. This is what happens if you don't get the notch lined up when re-fitting the steering wheel. This will cause you massive problems if the bush doesn't sit straight and the steering will bind and not self-centre.
