Guest peter1
hi all, I'm having a couple of problems with smooth running and am told that I need a new idle air control valve sensor and a throttle body sensor for my R reg cabby. I hanen't got a clue except that the cost seems to be about £500 for the pair. does anyone know where to get them at a more reasonable price cheers, peter s-b. Guest s6boy1979
Try ebay for second had stuff which will be cheap or a place like euro car parts for new patern parts which are cheaper than ford parts

allblue
Before you write off the sensors, try cleaning the Idle valve with carb cleaner. Over time excess carbon builds up inside these, affecting piston movement. Simply open up the idle valve and spray carb cleaner to remove carbon deposits. Leave to dry. Ensure the piston moves freely. Refit after all carb cleaner has evaporated.
