Hi i have had my car for a few weeks now but have always had a problem with this blasted hose, i am not a mechanic and haven't got a clue and here in belfast no one wants to know.

Where does it go, or is there something else missing ?

Any help would be great.

If i do this which seems natural to the shape of the pipe, the car hits about 7000rpm and just sits there revving out....

I haven't got a scooby doo...

doesnt the airbox look wrong? i;m thinking the idle speed control valve is behind the suspension turret, so it goes..... pipe from manifold to control valve, pipe from control valve to air box, then airbox back to the black inlet tube.

this might be wrong lol, but i know i have the airbox for this system, and you have the one for mine.

You have a mismatch of parts there.

In summary, there were three variations of the EFI airbox design.

The airbox you currently have on your car is for cars where the Idle Speed Control valve (ISCV - silver cylinder shaped device with either 1 or 2 hoses coming off it) is directly attached to the inlet manifold (the silver aluminum bit with the 'EFI' logo on).

Like previously mentioned, there does not seem to be an ISCV attached to your car. Can you see one anywhere in the engine bay?

The hose you originally talk about, attaches to the ISCV at the disconnected end.

Another hose should then run from the ISCV direct to the airbox.

Hope this helps.

from the 2nd picture it doesn't look like the iscv would fit onto the inlet manifold, the design looks different.

the iscv is behind the turret, the set up is little different becasue of the cone filter, but shold be a little clearer as to where the pipes go

i can't remember where i got this picture from, but if its someones on here, sorry for using it, but thanks
