Guest BIGMADRAB1 Posted January 9, 2010 Share Posted January 9, 2010 to yous guys (and girls) doing restos, was lookin for some advice on best rust proofing and best brands of primer when restoring my mk4. i know halfords do a large range but i also know alot of it is not top quality, and lets face it if your going through the hassle of painting it, you want it done right. cheers. gingergman Posted January 9, 2010 Share Posted January 9, 2010 use a high build primer, as long as you use it in the right conditions, no damp in the air etc it will be fine, that and making sure all the old rust is %100 removed, hope that helps abit lol.
