Guest pauls0701 Posted October 3, 2009 Share Posted October 3, 2009 hey guys well had the mk6 a week now so far it has had to have a fair few bits to get it in to a drivable condition but now that it is i will be starting on the cosmetic stuff and trying to tidy a few things up no real plans for what needs doing will just be sorting out a few things adding bits here and there and trying to make it presentable for shows next year list of things that need doing at the moment are 1. new interior which im hoping to get tomorrow as someone has covered the door cards in some horible red/orange felt 2. couple if scratches and a bit of rust to sort on rear wheel arch once i can source some paint 3. would like to get a spare front and rear bumper to have a go at remodling them. thats about it at the moment but will be more as i start getting in to it. heres a pic of what it looks like at the moment Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest pauls0701 Posted October 30, 2009 Share Posted October 30, 2009 well after deciding that at last the weather for having to top down is over i have started to do some work to the car, i have fitted the new front door cards doing away with the horrible orange covering but need to retrim the rears but more on this later. the front tinting has now been removed as i park in a police station carpark during the day and they commented on the fact that its to dark. today i started to strip all the back out as needed to remove the rear side cards to recover and also want to sort out all the speaker wiring as its in a right mess with joins about every foot and what a shock i got some one has had it all apart before as they have fitted rear speakers in the top part of the rear seats and all the seat belt bolts were loose just glad up till now have had no one in the back so as it stands at the moment the back is all stripped out and im off tomorrow to get something to retrim the side cards and then start on sorting out the stereo wiring. after having found what i did with the seatbelts over the next couple of months i will be going right though the whole car checking everything on it. hopefully but the start of the shows next year i will have a car that i will be proud to take.
