Escort Mk3 Fule Pump Not Priming

Hi any one have any idea as to weather a mk3 primes before start as im sure it should car starts and runs fine just the issue with the priming any help greatfully recieved.

i think it depends if it has a electric or mechanical pump, electric will mechanical wont

if its running fine dont worry about it lol

true i would but ive spent so much time on the old thing im just well if it dose then it will lol maybe i should just acept that all is good lol.cheers

cheers i thought so.ok ideas as to what would stop it doing so as i have changed the relay as with most used to be prob but to no avail lol i know somthing must make the relay switch ie poss ecu but dout ford got that advanced on a b plate.

The fuel pump will not always prime. If you want to make sure, go to the fuel pump relay and bridge the big black/red wire and the black wire. The fuel pump should prime until you either turn the ignition off or remove the "bridge".

 

If it does not, then you either have no power to the relay or there is a bad connection/knackered pump issue.

cheers for that i know i have feed to the relay as checked so was thinking fuel pump as was siezed but good swift bash with hammer got it working for mot lol cheers again next stop ebay for new pump.
