Mk4 Rs Turbo Conversion And Restoration

Here is my MK4 in all its multi-coloured glory,I have owned it quite a few years and it had originally had an XR3i engine and the car was in very good condition until some drunken idiot decided to vandalise it,they kicked the door in,smashed the window and managed to put a nice big hole in the roof.I took it off the road and at the time could'nt afford to get the work done so it just sat for ages.A mechanic friend of mine then told me his neighbor was having to break his Series 2 RS Turbo and suggested that if I wanted the engine he would fit it with me into the cab and it got me interested in fixing the car back up again.I took the engine with the loom, the dash, the bonnet, the front bumper, fuel pump and a full stainless steel exhaust system.I also managed to find a decent condition replacement passenger door and we began work on the car.The engine was filthy so we cleaned each individual part and after weeks of cleaning it was ready to be put back together. We sprayed the engine bay panther black and then fitted the engine, got the loom wired in and fitted the exhast system, bonnet and bumper. This is now the stage the car has sat at for a while as my mechanic friend moved out of the area.I have been sourcing a few bits ready to go on after it gets sprayed, and I am now going to start preparing the car for spraying.I am going to remove the old roof and all other parts I can, lights etc. and start sanding as much as I can.The engine is not running yet as my friend annoyingly moved away before it was completely finished,I need to get a new housing for the fuel pump too.Anyway enough rambling, here are some pics of my labour of love in the stage its at right now, more to come after I remove the roof etc.
