Guest jam
Hi. Has anybody any experience of trying to repair the cracks in a mk3 dashboard. If so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Sean
Escort Cabriolet Club
Could always get it Flocked like Ollie did mate, I also think they did a Fibreglass replica too !!! There are specialists out there who can cut and fill the cracks and repair with a matching pattern stamp and touch up paint/spray !!!
Guest jam
Yeah thanks for your reply mate. I not sure about the flocking route, not really to my taste. I did read on an RS forum about digging the cracks out and filling them with a polymer filler, then spraying the dash with a rover grey, which is almost a match for the dash colour, then finishing it with a matt lacquer. I might give it a try, if it all goes horribly wrong i will have to go down the awful mk4 dash route. (sobs)
Escort Cabriolet Club
You can do that Jam, make sure you degrease the dash first to get all the dash shining product off lol !!! Use a leather swatch to print a pettern onto the filler to match the dash !!!
